Image Stitching Tips & Best Practices
Stitch Smarter, Not Harder
Learn how to create professional-looking photo collages, which layout to choose for each use case, and how to get the most out of the pan and zoom controls.
Stitching multiple photos into one image saves time when posting to social media, helps tell a visual story in a single frame, makes before-and-after comparisons easy, and lets you share a full photo series without uploading dozens of individual files.
For Instagram, use a 2×2 grid at 1:1 ratio for a balanced feed post, or a 1×2 vertical layout at 4:5 for maximum screen space. For Stories or Reels covers, stitch photos in a 2×1 at 9:16. For Twitter/X, a 2-photo horizontal at 16:9 works best.
Use a 2-image side-by-side layout with the same output ratio for both shots. Align subjects using the pan control so faces, products, or structures appear at the same height in each panel. A small white gap between panels helps viewers distinguish the two images.
Use Auto ratio if you want the stitched image to reflect the natural proportions of your layout. Choose 1:1 for Instagram and Facebook posts, 16:9 for desktop wallpapers and YouTube thumbnails, 9:16 for mobile wallpapers and Stories, and 4:3 for print or presentation slides.
After uploading photos, click any image in the preview to select it. Scroll your mouse wheel (or use the zoom slider) to zoom in or out. Drag to reposition the visible area. This lets you crop and frame each photo independently — without a separate crop step.
The image stitcher works in any modern mobile browser — Safari on iPhone/iPad and Chrome on Android. Tap an image in the preview to select it, then use the zoom slider that appears below the canvas to scale it. Drag to reposition. No app install, no permissions required.
